Love Island's Tyla Carr unveils her hair transformation after she was forced to HIDE her two 'horrendous' bald patches following birth of her son

Love Island star Tyla Carr has unveiled her new hair transformation after she was forced to hide her 'horrendous' bald patches following the birth of her son Archie in December 2018.

The reality star, 26, candidly revealed that she had been left with missing clumps of hair, around 6cm, across her hairline after she stopped breastfeeding.

Tyla admitted that she was so self-conscious over her bald patches that over the past three months she would attempt to conceal her hairline and even tried to hide from photographers at events.

Sharing a candid Instagram video about her postpartum hair loss, the Love Island star revealed that she had been using GROW supplements by Hair Gain as she unveiled the results of her hair transformation.

Tyla said that her bald patches are 'no longer' and that her 'confidence is through the roof' over the 'amazing' results.

She added: 'I don’t have to hide my hair any more. I was going to events and I was worried about people taking photos.

'After having Archie I had these two big bald patches on both side of my head by my hair line, and I also didn’t realise that I had even bigger balder patches around my ear.

'But now it’s all grown back. It’s insane, I’ve been taking these Hair Gain tablets for over eight weeks now and I’m so thrilled with the results.'

She continued: 'I had bald patches after giving birth to Archie but now I can show you here the new growth that is coming back through and it’s absolutely incredible.

'It’s just amazing it’s so thick and long, considering I’ve only been taking Grow by Hair Gain for six weeks, I would have expected it to take longer.

'And it’s made from pea-shoots, and it’s vegan, so I’m going to carry on taking it. My hair has grown so much longer in a short space of time, so I’m loving it.'

Tyla first candidly spoke about her hair loss in July, revealing she had two bald patches since she had stopped breastfeeding.

She said in a different Instagram video: 'It is horrendous, I began to notice clumps of hair coming out in the shower in the morning blocking up the plughole.

'My hair used to have lovely thick hair and it’s devastating to see how thing and lacklustre it looks now with bald patches around the temples.'

She added: 'I had read about women losing their hair after stopping breastfeeding but I never thought it would happen to me. Sadly it did.'

Tyla split from her baby daddy, Rossco, just six months after welcoming their first son Archie in December 2018 and took to Instagram to reveal the 'awful' news in June.

The couple had been together for over a year, but first met nine years ago in Mallorca. They reunited after Tyla shot a calendar on the Spanish island.

The brunette beauty was propelled into the limelight in the Love Island villa where she enjoyed brief romances with late reality star Mike Thalassitis and Jonny Mitchell in 2017.

Hair loss can affect around 50% of women, Cheryl Mackie expert Natural Trichologist (CM Hair & Skin, Harley Street) said: 'The shedding seen in Tyla’s photo is known as telogen effluvium, or post-partum hair loss, and it’s much more common than you might think.

'This distressing hair loss affects around 50% of women, usually losing three times the usual amount of hair per day.

'During pregnancy, oestrogen levels rise and consequently hair becomes thicker, but 12 to 24 weeks after giving birth, or when stopping breastfeeding, those levels see a rapid decline and so does your hair.'
