The original film followed Anna in her efforts to reunite with her sister Elsa, after her powers inadvertently trapped their kingdom of Arendelle into an eternal winter.
Frozen was also the recipient of two Academy Awards, one for Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song for Let It Go.
The sequel, which will be released November 22, is set three years after the original, and will see the sisters go on a journey to uncover the origins of Elsa's magic powers.
Familiar faces joining along include Kristoff, Olaf, and Sven, who will be embarking on the dangerous but remarkable expedition with the sisters as their kingdom faces terrible danger.
