Days Of Our Lives is bringing back nine characters for a new digital spinoff series... after the cast denied the original soap is being canceled

  • Nine characters who were on Days Of Our Lives are having a 20-year reunion
  • The actors will be working on a new digital spinoff series Last Blast Reunion
  • The show will bow on the show's DOOL App on November 29
  • The characters were students at Salem High on the original program

Nine characters who were on Days Of Our Lives in 2000 are having a 20-year reunion in an upcoming digital spin-off.

Last Blast Reunion, which bows on the show's DOOL App November 29, will bring members of the long-running NBC soap opera's 36th season back together.

The characters were students at Salem High on the original program and are gathering in the digital series for a school reunion, Variety reports.

Brandon Beemer, Nadia Bjorlin, Lindsay Hollister, Heather Lindell, Martha Madison and Aaron Van Wagner are returning to their old characters.

However, they were largely not the actors who portrayed these characters in 2000, but rather actors who played older versions of the roles later in the soap opera's run.

The exceptions are Aaron, who was Jason Welles from 2000 to 2007, and Nadia, who has been playing Chloe Lane since 1999 and is still on Days Of Our Lives.

Meanwhile, Chadwick Hopson and Teressa Liane were never on Days Of Our Lives proper but will feature on Last Blast Reunion.

Eight weekly episodes, each seven to 10 minutes long, will be rolled out first on DOOL and then seven days later on the NBC website and app.

Martha and Nadia's characters Belle and Chloe will kick off the reunion with Chadwick's character Kevin, whose .Com Cafe has reopened.

As the other characters from the 'Last Blast Crew' get together, a currently undisclosed character beloved by fans will apparently turn up.

A week ago the cast of Days Of Our Lives proper spoke to DailyMailTV to staunchly deny rumors that the show was being canceled.

The network released the cast from their contracts and while reporting the news TV Line speculated: 'Is the end nigh?'

'It's totally wrong, we're still here,' said Kristian Alfonso, who has been starring as Hope Brady on the program since 1983.

''It's totally wrong. I'm sitting in my dressing room right now. We would love to know where this is from. The head writer just went upstairs to do a long-term story meeting. It's insane, it's crazy,' said the show veteran.

Camila Banus, who first joined the soap in 2010, shared: 'There's not much to clear up. We're in negotiations and nothing has been set so that's just false information, that's it. It's just our regular hiatus.'
