Ferne McCann EXCLUSIVE: Star says she isn't looking for a 'father figure' for daughter Sunday but wants someone for herself... as she reveals initial struggle with the 'single parent' label
She is a fiercely independent mother to her little girl Sunday, two.
And Ferne McCann has revealed that when looking for love she isn't searching for a 'father figure' for her daughter but rather someone for herself.
During an interview with MailOnline, the First Time Mum star admitted she is often asked if she is looking for someone 'to step into her family dynamic', but Ferne said she is in no rush to introduce any potential suitors to Sunday.

She also discussed initially struggling with being labelled a 'single parent', even before her baby girl was born and her plans for more children in the future.
Discussing her return to the dating scene, Ferne said: 'I just want to enjoy being back on the dating scene and doing things for me. Sunday's my priority and of course she is in everything I decide to do she's my main concern...
'But I get people saying "do you want to find a father figure for Sunday? Are you looking for someone to step into that family dynamic" and do you know what I actually just want to find someone for me, and if it happens down the line that I introduce them to Sunday then so be it. But I haven't crossed that bridge yet.'

Ferne recently opened up about a new love interest and revealed at the time that it is someone who has been in her life for a while.
She revealed: 'I recently spoke about someone who I've known for ages and I've been on a few dates with and he's really lovely. But I'm just taking everything in my stride, I don't want to make any mistakes.'
As well as confessing that she isn't looking for a father figure for Sunday, Ferne also spoke about having an issue with the single mum label at first.
The former TOWIE star said: 'Throughout my pregnancy and even when Sunday was born I really had an issue with being called a single parent.
'I felt like before I'd even given birth I was labelled as a single parent, and it was more the labelling I just thought why can't I be like any other mum?'
Hectic: Ferne leaving the studio after a busy day working with Talk Talk TV in London
'I hadn't come to terms with the fact that I was going to be a single parent at that time, but I have done a complete 180 and I wanted to take back everything I'd previously said because I felt so much pride for being a single parent, it's so rewarding and you get all the love.
'So I love that my show portrays life from a single parent's perspective and I get so many DMs from single parents, there's so many people out there with multiple children with not a lot of support and I get it, but I'm so lucky I have such an amazing support network.'
'When Sunday was born and I was looking at my friends in partnerships I was like "urgh" I didn't have that experience but I wouldn't have it any other way now, I absolutely love being a single parent to Sunday.'

Viewers sometimes see Ferne's more emotional side on First Time Mum and during the most recent series she broke down over the fact she doesn't have the support that other mums have in their partnerships.
Discussing being vulnerable on the show, she said: 'I think I take it in my stride but of course a show like that is exposing but you know you're opening your home to a camera crew and just hoping for the best.
'I think if you're honest and straight up then there's nothing that anyone can say. People can have their opinions and people can troll you but ultimately you get an unbelievable response and people support you.'

Ferne's BFF Danielle Armstrong recently revealed she is expecting her first baby - a little girl - and the reality star admitted she can't wait for the new arrival.
She admitted that they are already making loads of family plans together and said: 'It's so exciting! I can't wait! I was on the phone to her when I was on my way into London and she was like yeah next year when I've had the baby we'll do this holiday.
'I thought this is great I've been waiting for someone, a lot of my friends have children and we holiday with the kids, but I'm just so happy that we get to do loads of fun things.'
When quizzed over whether the news has made her broody, Ferne said: 'I'd love to have more children definitely.
'I don't think I'm ready quite yet and obviously I'd need to find a man! I would to have a child and grow my family with someone and do it in a partnership.'
