A youthful Sly, who has twice been nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of the Philadelphia underdog Rocky, looked sharp in a black tee, leather panelled jacket and jeans.

A strapping Dolph, who transformed into steroid-taking Russian Olympic gold medallist Ivan for the films, also revealed his radiant complexion as he mirrored Sylvester's pose.

The Swedish star looked handsome  in a black sweater and sharply tailored silver suit as he posed up a storm.

Showing they were worlds away from their stoic on-screen appearances, the long-time friends cracked cheery smiles as they walked the red carpet.

Despite the jovial demeanour, it was a very different story when the pair first met on-screen in 1985, with hulking Ivan beating Rocky's best friend and mentor Apollo Creed to death in the ring.

A powerless Rocky, who was told not to throw in the towel by Apollo, blamed himself for the death and vowed to take on the terrifying 6ft5 Russian boxer to avenge his death.

Ivan showed no remorse in the aftermath of the killing, memorably telling reporters 'if he dies, he dies.'

Rocky, who famously said Drago would have to kill him to beat him, travelled to the USSR to train for the 15 round grudge match, which took place on Christmas Day.

Rocky immediately took a pounding from Ivan but comes back and manages to injure Ivan, who is not used to being hurt and shocks the crowd.

Stunned by Rocky's resolve,  a reeling Drago says 'he is not human, he is like a piece of iron.'

In the triumphant finale a galvanised Rocky lands a series of uppercuts to Drago's body before punching him in the face and finally delivering a knock-out left hook.

The fourth instalment in the acclaimed franchise was an instant success, gaining millions of fans all over the world with its training montages, explosive storyline and inspirational quotes including Rocky's impassioned line, 'If I can change and you can change, everybody can change!'.

The pair then reunited in the much-hyped sequel  to critically acclaimed 2015 film Creed, with Drago's son Viktor taking on Apollo Creed's son Adonis in a fight 33 years in the making.

Back in September, Sly revealed  that he actually 'hated' his Rocky IV co-star Dolph during filming- even though he chose him for the part.

'I really wanted a big, horrible, vicious guy,' the actor said. 'Like a primitive. And I couldn’t find him.

'I’m finding giant wrestlers and football players and that. And then, all of a sudden, the door opened, the smoke came in, there’s light.

'[He had a] proceeding hairline, shoulders this wide, everything was perfect. Even his calves were coming through his clothing. Just muscular,' Sly continued.

'Blue eyes are staring into my soul. He was the real Terminator, and I was like, I hate this guy. He’s too good looking, too perfect. And if I loathe him, I’m sure the world will,' as the audience laughed.

Meanwhile, Sly revealed they are working on an idea for a TV series that they came up with called The International, which Sly will produce and may appear in alongside Dolph.

'It deals with the UN but it's a different kind of UN - it's more hard core and Dolph will bring a different spin to the whole thing.'

And the audience cheered when he said, as a casual aside, 'We may do another Expendables.'

That will be the fourth film in the franchise. Expendables 3, released in 2014, co-starred Sly and Dolph with Harrison Ford, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Statham, Mel Gibson and Wesley Snipes.

One Night, a collaboration between DAZN  and Stallone's Balboa Productions highlights the biggest moments in recent boxing history, starting with Andy Ruiz Jr.'s historic win against British boxer Anthony Joshua in June 2019.
