Reflecting on her Big Brother stint in 2002, Adele said: 'Looking back, I carried a lot of guilt about the way I acted in Big Brother and I feel like I let myself down and I could have been a much nicer person.

'I’d like to show a better side to myself this time. To both the campmates in there by treating them better but also to come out and have a positive experience not a negative one.'

She added: 'I just think I judged people when I shouldn’t have, I should have tried to get to know them a bit more and I think I probably hurt people when I didn’t realise when I was in there.

'It was only because I’ve come out that I realised that words are really powerful and you should try and build people up. I just let the game get to me and got too negative and I just won’t do that again this time.'

Adele appeared on series three of Big Brother in 2002 alongside Jade, Alison Hammond and Kate Lawler.

During her time on the show, the Radio 1 DJ had several rows with Jade, with their most explosive showdown involving a disagreement about Jade's verruca.

'Nicer person': Reflecting on her Big Brother stint in 2002, Adele said: 'Looking back, I carried a lot of guilt about the way I acted in Big Brother and I feel like I let myself down and I could have been a much nicer person.'

A tearful Jade accused Adele of saying 'urgh' about her verruca and that she should 'wear flip flops in the shower', something the latter vehemently denied saying.

Things got so heated between the pair as they squared up to each other, fellow housemate Alex Sibley had to separate them as he screamed: 'Do something for me, both of you. Listen to yourselves!'

Jade then hid under her duvet sobbing while Adele stormed out the bedroom, warning: 'I'm going to f**king deck her, seriously!'

In March 2009, Jade tragically passed away from cervical cancer after discovering she had the disease on the Indian version of Big Brother in August 2008.
