'She never fails to cheer her up': I'm A Celeb star Adele Roberts' girlfriend explains why the host chose a snap of Jane McDonald as her VERY bizarre luxury item

Adele Roberts left fans puzzled as her luxury item was unveiled as a picture of Jane McDonald on Monday's installment of I'm A Celebrity.

And the BBC host's girlfriend Kate Holderness explained the reason behind Adele's very bizarre choice in a detailed tweet following Tuesday's episode.

The actress - who has been dating the media personality for over 15 years - revealed the 40-year-old decided to take an image of the former Loose Women panellist, 56, into the jungle as she 'never fails to cheer her up' and 'reminds her of her radio listeners'.

While several of the campmates chose items such as family photos, beauty products and comfy pillows, Adele opted for a framed snap of The Cruise star Jane.

Fellow contestant Roman Kemp took in a mug with a photo of his girlfriend Anne-Sophie Flury and his dog on it, while ex-EastEnders actress Jacqueline Jossa decided to bring in an image of her two children, Mia, 15 months, and Ella, four.

Corrie star Kate insisted that Adele wasn't allowed to choose a picture of her loved ones as her luxury item, but appeared to have the rules misconstrued as Roman and Jacqueline doubled up on family snaps.

Adele's long-term partner started her tweet: 'Hahaaaa! Right, I can clear this up! All the campmates have to have different luxury items, they're not allowed to double up on anything.

'So Adele's first choice of a family photo was already taken which she didn't mind because she knew there'd be campmates who'd love a pic of their children in there with them.

'Second choice, a pillow, was another goner as it's usually the most requested item. Pretty much everything she wanted after that was already taken too.' [sic]

With little choice, the former Big Brother star decided to bring a piece of home to the Australian jungle to brighten up her day, particularly during the tense challenges.

Kate added: 'The brief was ''something to make you happy'' so she just chose something that never fails to cheer her up and something that reminds her of her Early Morning Radio 1 listeners.

'It's a bit of a long running feature on Adele's show, when they're having a bit of a slump & feeling down, a listener will request a "bit of Jane" to get them through the day!

'I do have to say that most of her decisions are made at 2am when she gets up for her show, most things make perfect sense at that time', she ended her message.

While her choice raised laughs in the camp, viewers at home were left baffled by it and soon took to Twitter to air their views.

'The UK trying to work out why a picture of Jane McDonald was Adele's luxury item,' commented one viewer.

While another said: 'You’re telling me jacqueline missed out on a photo of her kids for adele to get a photo of jane mcdonald, who may i just add isn’t even the superior loose woman, WHAT is going on i cba #ImACeleb.'

However, there were some watchers who were all for the Jane hype. One enthusiastic fan said: 'Adele's luxury item being a picture of Cruise Queen Jane McDonald is one of the best things I've ever heard in I'm A Celebrity history #ImACeleb'.
