Judge Jackie: Disorder in the Court
Judge Jackie Justice rules over her reality television courtroom with an iron fist, presiding over a three-ring circus of America’s most chaotic civil cases. But when a drop in ratings threatens her show and brings her face-to-face with the liability of her own love life, the judge must learn to navigate the ludicrous laws of love in this over-the-top courtroom comedy musical. As the cases unfold, audience members will serve as the jury while the defendants plead their case. Five actors play 25 different characters in this delightful disregard of jurisprudence.
Radio Golf is a fast-paced, dynamic and wonderfully funny work about the world today and the dreams we have for the future. Set in Pittsburgh in the late 1990s, it’s the story of a successful entrepreneur who aspires to become the city’s first black mayor. But when the past begins to catch up with him, secrets are revealed that could be his undoing. The final play in Wilson’s unprecedented 10-play cycle chronicling African-American life in the 20th century, this bittersweet drama of assimilation and alienation in nineties America traces the forces of change on a neighborhood and its people caught between history and the twenty-first century.
Death by Design
What happens when you mix the brilliant wit of Noël Coward with the intricate plotting of Agatha Christie? Set during a weekend in an English country manor in 1932, Death by Design is a delightful and mysterious “mash-up” of two of the greatest English writers of all time. Edward Bennett, a playwright, and his actress wife, Sorel Bennett, flee London and head to Cookham after a disastrous opening
night. But various guests arrive unexpectedly – a conservative politician, a fiery socialist, a nearsighted ingénue, a zany
modern dancer – each with a long-held secret.
