Together with Dicky Gilbers and Nienke Knevel I organised a workshop On the Boundaries of Phonology and Phonetics, January 30, 2004, at the University of Groningen. The workshop was held on the occasion of the parting of Dr Tjeerd de Graaf as coordinator of the 'CLCG Klankleer'-group. Members of this group presented their work. Keynote speakers were Carlos Gussenhoven (University of Nijmegen) and Vincent van Heuven (University of Leiden).
At this workshop we also presented a book 'On the Boundaries of Phonology and Phonetics', with papers by members of the CLCG Klankleer group, and a paper by Vincent van Heuven. Dicky Gilbers, I and Nienke Knevel edited this book.

Together with Markus Bergmann I organised TABU-day 2002, an annual one-day conference on general linguistics held at the University of Groningen. Read more? Click on the logo.
From 2001 to 2003 I was a member of the BCN PhD Student Council. This PhD Student Council represents all BCN PhD Students in the Educational Board of BCN.
One of the things I did with the PhD Student Council was the organisation of the BCN Poster afternoons in 2002 and 2003. Furthermore we did an investigation into the educational workload of PhD students, and made some recommendations
on improvements to the BCN Board, which they adopted. As a result the educational program is being improved and all time spent by PhD students on receiving and giving education is quotated and credited.
Among the other things we did was the presentation of a poster with information on the Ubbo Emmius 'Bursalen' system in Groningen.
