Alpino combined Binary/Source Distribution
Alpino is a dependency parser for Dutch, developed in the context of
the PIONIER Project
Algorithms for Linguistic Processing. This document
concerns the binary/source distribution of Alpino. Be prepared for some work,
if you care to install from the sources. If you intend to use the
binaries, assuming these are available from your platform, then
you should have no problems. Note that each of the binary
distributions contain all the sources as well.
Installing Alpino - binary
- Recently tested platforms: Linux 64 bit.
- For binary installation: download and unpack an appropriate version
from Alpino versions.
- Quick start (binary distribution): make sure that the ALPINO_HOME
environment variable points to the Alpino directory. Run
$(ALPINO_HOME)/bin/Alpino.
- If some of the related tools complain about missing libraries,
then these may be available in create_bin/extralibs
Installing Alpino - sources
For installation from sources: download and unpack the latest archive
from this directory.
Alternatively, you can use git:
git clone --depth 1 git://urd.let.rug.nl/Alpino.git
Check the file INSTALL in the Alpino directory.
See the document Running Alpino for
further documentation.
