1 „Hej, Králicku, nejsi to ty?" |
1 "Hallo, Rabbit, isn't that you?" |
2 „Ne,“ řekl Králicek, tentokrát změněným hlasem. |
2 "No," said
Rabbit, in a different sort of voice this time. |
3
„Ale není tohle Králíčkův hlas?“ |
3 "But isn't
that Rabbit's voice?" |
4
„Asi ne,“ řekl Králicek. |
4 "I don't
think so," said Rabbit. |
5
„Aspoň to nemá být jeho hlas." |
5 "It isn't meant to be." |
6
„Ach tak!“ řekl Pú. |
6 "Oh!" said
Pooh. |
7
Vytáhl hlavu z díry, zamyslil se, |
7 He took his
head out of the hole, and had another think, |
8
pak ji tam zase vstrčil a řekl: |
8 and then
he put it back, and said: |
9
„A nemohl byste mi říct, kde je Králíček?“ |
9 "Well, could
you very kindly tell me where Rabbit is?" |
10
„Šel na návštěvu k svému příteli Medvídkovi
Pú, je to jeho dobrý známý.“ |
10 "He has gone to
see his friend Pooh Bear, who is a great friend of his." |
11
„Ale vždyť to jsem já!“
řekl Medvídek, velmi překvapen. |
11 "But this is Me!"
said Bear, very much surprised. |
12
„Kdo já?" |
12 "What sort of
Me?" |
13
„Medvídek Pú" |
13 "Pooh Bear." |
14 „Jistě?“ řekl Králíček, ještě překvapenější. |
14 "Are you sure?" said Rabbit, still more surprised. |
15
„Docela jistě,“ řekl Pú. |
15 "Quite, quite
sure," said Pooh. |
16
„Tak tedy pojď dál.“ |
16 "Oh, well, then,
come in." |
17
Pú se tlačil a tlačil do díry, až se dostal
konečně dovnitř. |
17 So Pooh pushed
and pushed and pushed his way through the hole, and at last he got in.
|
18
„Opravdu,“ řekl Králíček
a celého si ho měřil. |
18 "You were quite
right," said Rabbit, looking at him all over. |
19
„Jsi to ty. |
19 "It is you. |
20 Tak tě vítám.“ |
20 Glad to see you."
|
21
„A kdo jsi myslel, že to je?“ |
21 "Who did you think
it was?" |
22 „Nebyl jsem si jist. |
22 "Well, I wasn't
sure. |
23
To víš, jak to v Lese chodí. |
23 You know how it
is in the Forest. |
24
Nemohu si pustit každého do bytu. |
24 One can't have anybody coming into one's house. |
25
Musím být opatrný. |
25 One has to be
careful. |
26
Což takhle něco zakousnout?“ |
26 What about a mouthful
of something?" |
27 V jedenáct dopoledne si Pú vždycky dával něco menšího, |
27 Pooh always liked a little something at eleven o'clock in the morning, |
28 a proto se s radostí díval, jak Králíček chystá talířky a džbánky; |
28 and he was very glad to see Rabbit getting out the plates and mugs; |
29 a když se Králíček zeptal: |
29 and when Rabbit said, |
30 „ Chceš k chlebu med, nebo kondenzované mléko?", |
30 "Honey or condensed
milk with your bread?" |
31
byl tak vzrušen, že řekl: |
31 he was so excited
that he said, |
32 „Obojí,“ a pak, aby nevypadal tak chamtivě, dodal: |
32 "Both," and then,
so as not to seem greedy, he added, |
33
„Ale s chlebem se neobtěžuj, prosím.“ |
33 "But don't bother
about the bread, please." |
34 A pak dlouho neříkal nic |
34 And for a long time after that he said nothing . . . |
35 a konečně si začal pobroukávat trochu nejistým hlasem, vstal, stiskl Králíčkovi pracku a řekl, že už musí jít. |
35 until at last, humming to himself in a rather sticky voice, he got up, shook Rabbit lovingly by the paw, and said that he must be going on. |
36
„Musíš?“ řekl Králíček
zdvořile. |
36 "Must you?" said
Rabbit politely |
37 „Zůstal bych ještě chvilku,“ řekl Pú, „kdyby – kdybys –," |
37 "Well," said Pooh,
"I could stay a little longer if it – if you – " |
38 a díval se upřeně ke spížce. |
38 and he tried very
hard to look in the direction of the larder. |
39 „Abych řekl pravdu,“ řekl Králíček, „chtěl jsem sám právě odejít." |
39 "As a matter of fact," said Rabbit, "I was going out myself directly." |
40
„Tak tedy půjdu. Sbohem.“ |
40 "Oh well, then,
I'll be going on. Good-bye." |
41
„Tak sbohem, jestli ovšem opravdu už nic nechceš.“ |
41 "Well, good-bye,
if you're sure you won't have any more." |
42 „A máš ještě něco?“ zeptal se Pú rychle. |
42 "Is there any
more?" asked Pooh quickly. |
43
Králíček zdvihl pokličky a řekl: |
43 Rabbit took the covers off the dishes, and said, |
44 „Už nemám.“ |
44 "No, there wasn't."
