Previous investigations have shown that the Norwegian-Swedish-Danish mutual intelligibility is asymmetric. On the basis of corpora we analysed the phonetic and lexical differences between Norwegian, Swedish and Danish in order to investigate whether the asymmetry can be explained by differences at these linguistic levels.
