1       "I mean," said Rabbit, "that having got so far, it seems a pity to waste it."

2      Kristofer Robin je klimnuo glavom.

2       Christopher Robin nodded.

3      Ostaje nam samo jedno, rekao je.

3       "Then there's only one thing to be done," he said.

4  Moraćemo pričekati dok opet ne omršaviš.

4       "We shall have to wait for you to get thin again."

5      A koliko će trajati dok omršavim? upitao je Pu zabrinuto.

5       "How long does getting thin take?" asked Pooh anxiously.

6      Jedno nedelju dana, čini mi se.

6       "About a week, I should think."

7       "But I can't stay here for a week!"

8       "You can stay here all right, silly old Bear.

9       It's getting you out which is so difficult."

10      "We'll read to you," said Rabbit cheerfully.

11      "And I hope it won't snow," he added.

12  Slušaj, stari druže, ti sada zauzimaš dosta velik deo moje kuće...

12      "And I say, old fellow, you're taking up a good deal of room in my house

13      – do you mind if I use your back legs as a towel-horse?

14      Because, I mean, there they are – doing nothing – and it would be very convenient just to hang the towels on them."

15      Nedelju dana! rekao je Pu utučeno.

15      "A week!" said Pooh gloomily.

16  Kako ću jesti?

16      "What about meals?"

17      "I'm afraid no meals," said Christopher Robin, "because of getting thin quicker.

18  Ali čitaćemo ti umesto toga.

18      But we will read to you."

19      Bear began to sigh, and then found he couldn't because he was so tightly stuck;

20      and a tear rolled down his eye, as he said:

[20]  Jedna suza skotrlja mu se niz obraz.

21      "Then would you read a Sustaining Book, such as would help and comfort a Wedged Bear in Great Tightness?"

22      I tako je celu jednu nedelju Kristofer Robin čitao takvu jednu knjigu severnom delu Pua,

22      So for a week Christopher Robin read that sort of book at the North end of Pooh,

23  a Zekhop je sušio rublje na južnom delu...

23      and Rabbit hung his washing on the South end . . .

24  a dotle je Medved osećao kako postaje sve vitkiji i tanji.

24      and in between Bear felt himself getting slenderer and slenderer.

25      And at the end of the week Christopher Robin said, "Now!"

26      Uhvatio je Pua za prednje šape,

26      So he took hold of Pooh's front paws

27  a Zekhop se uhvatio za Kristofera Robina,

27      and Rabbit took hold of Christopher Robin,

28      and all Rabbit's friends and relations took hold of Rabbit,

29  i vukli su svi složno...

29      and they all pulled together....

30      Pu je dosta dugo govorio samo: Joj! ...

30      And for a long time Pooh only said "Ow!" ...

31      A ponekad: Uf!...

31      And "Oh!" ...

32      And then, all of a sudden, he said "Pop!" just as if a cork were coming out of a bottle.

33      And Christopher Robin and Rabbit and all Rabbit's friends and relations went head-over-heels backwards . . .

34      and on the top of them came Winnie-the-Pooh – free!

35      So, with a nod of thanks to his friends, he went on with his walk through the forest, humming proudly to himself.

36      But, Christopher Robin looked after him lovingly, and said to himself,

37      Ludi mali Medvede!

37      "Silly old Bear!"
