1      Alo, Zekhope, nisi li to ti?

1       "Hallo, Rabbit, isn't that you?"

2      Nisam, odgovorio je Zekhop, drugim glasom.

2       "No," said Rabbit, in a different sort of voice this time.

3      Ali, nije li to Zekhopov glas?

3       "But isn't that Rabbit's voice?"

4      Mislim da nije rekao je Zekhop.

4       "I don't think so," said Rabbit.

5  Zapravo, nastojao sam da ne bude.

5       "It isn't meant to be."

6      Aha! rekao je Pu.

6       "Oh!" said Pooh.

7      Izvukao je glavu i zamislio se još jedanput.

7       He took his head out of the hole, and had another think,

8  Zatim je ponovo uvukao glavu u otvor i upitao:

8       and then he put it back, and said:

9      E, da li biste bili tako ljubazni da mi kažete gde je Zekhop?

9       "Well, could you very kindly tell me where Rabbit is?"

10      "He has gone to see his friend Pooh Bear, who is a great friend of his."

11      "But this is Me!" said Bear, very much surprised.

12      Koji taj?

12      "What sort of Me?"

13      Medved Pu.

13      "Pooh Bear."

14      "Are you sure?" said Rabbit, still more surprised.

15      Sasvim, sasvim siguran rekao je Pu.

15      "Quite, quite sure," said Pooh.

16      – O, onda uđi.

16      "Oh, well, then, come in."

17      Pu se gurao i gurao kroz otvor, i najposle ušao u rupu.

17      So Pooh pushed and pushed and pushed his way through the hole, and at last he got in.

18      "You were quite right," said Rabbit, looking at him all over.

19   To si stvarno ti.

19      "It is you.

20  Dobro mi došao.

20      Glad to see you."

21      A šta si mislio, ko je?

21      "Who did you think it was?"

22      Pa, nisam bio baš siguran.

22      "Well, I wasn't sure.

23  Znaš kako je u Šumi.

23      You know how it is in the Forest.

24  Ne možeš primiti u kuću bilo koga.

24      One can't have anybody coming into one's house.

25  Znaš, moraš paziti.

25      One has to be careful.

26  Hoćeš li da malo prezalogajiš?

26      What about a mouthful of something?"

27      Pooh always liked a little something at eleven o'clock in the morning,

28      and he was very glad to see Rabbit getting out the plates and mugs;

29  A kad je Zekhop upitao:

29      and when Rabbit said,

30  „Hoćeš li meda ili maslaca sa hlebom?”

30      "Honey or condensed milk with your bread?"

31  tako se uzbudio da je odgovorio:

31      he was so excited that he said,

32  „Oboje”.

32      "Both," and then, so as not to seem greedy, he added,

33  „Ali može i bez hleba.”

33      "But don't bother about the bread, please."

34  Poduže posle toga nije progovorio ni reči...

34      And for a long time after that he said nothing . . .

35      until at last, humming to himself in a rather sticky voice, he got up, shook Rabbit lovingly by the paw, and said that he must be going on.

36      "Must you?" said Rabbit politely

37      "Well," said Pooh, "I could stay a little longer if it – if you – "

38  i trudio se da vrlo upadljivo gleda put ostave.

38      and he tried very hard to look in the direction of the larder.

39      "As a matter of fact," said Rabbit, "I was going out myself directly."

40      E, onda, ja idem. Zdravo!

40      "Oh well, then, I'll be going on. Good-bye."

41      "Well, good-bye, if you're sure you won't have any more."

42      Ima li još? upitao je Pu brzo.

42      "Is there any more?" asked Pooh quickly.

43      Rabbit took the covers off the dishes, and said,

44      Ne, nema.

44      "No, there wasn't."
